New Casting Call In Dallas
“Dallas”, the hit TV soap opera that lasted 14 seasons, has found a high profile cast to bring to the big screen adaptation.
According to Variety, the film version by 20th Century Fox will be directed by Robert Luketic, and many big names are receiving offers. John Travolta is in talks to play J.R. Ewing; Shirley MacLaine is up for Miss Ellie Ewing; Jennifer Lopez may be Sue Ellen Ewing; and Luke Wilson is negotiating for Bobby Ewing.
The story is about the dysfunctional Ewing family of wealthy Texas oil millionaires and their sketchy business arrangements. The controversy over “who shot J.R.?” became a TV phenomenon, plastering the covers of numerous magazines and sparking heavy water cooler gossiping.
If the deal pans out and everything is a go, production will commence in October, after Travolta plays a fat woman in the upcoming musical movie Hairspray.
