What’s the word on Christopher Nolan getting over his whole “I’m not sure if I’m ready for another Batman” thing and making a new bat flick already? Okay, I shouldn’t complain, the guy took some time off the first time around and ended up making the best superhero movie ever. So why pressure him? Now with Inception just around the very faraway corner, notes on a new Batman movie have to be getting around soon, right?
Well, Charlize Theron, the latest rumored Catwoman, has no idea, but she’d be totally down to take a role in it when it comes. According to Digital Spy, Charlize responded to her rumored involvement: “It's news to me, but that's kick-ass news. I think that what has happened to that franchise is amazing, and director Chris Nolan is a genius. So I would be an idiot to not consider that.” Theron isn’t saying anything new, though. Who would turn down a role in a Nolan-directed movie at this point? Well, maybe Philip Seymour Hoffman. But who else?
But as always, this is just another rumor for a movie that probably doesn’t even have a plot synopsis yet. Nolan is still knee deep in Inception, and with promotion to get done and the usual rest, the earliest we’re going to get Batman 3 is 2012. And who knows? By then, according to Roland Emmerich, we may all be dust anyway.
