This morning at Cinema Con DreamWorks presented footage from four of its major upcoming films that will be released by Disney: Steven Spielberg's War Horse, the novel adaptation The Help, the horror movie remake Fright Night and the futuristic robots boxing movie Real Steel. Talent from the latter three movies were available after the presentation for interviews, and I got the chance to talk to all of them on video, plus a more extensive sit-down conversation with The Help stars Emma Stone, Bryce Dallas Howard, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer.
First up from the video interviews are Real Steel star Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy, who previously made the Night at the Museum films and Date Night. I asked him about how different this film's tone might be from those comedies, how much of an all-ages movie Real Steel might be, and pressed them for details about the film's "hero robot" Atom, who is brought up out of a junkyard by Jackman's character and his son. I also pestered Jackman for a little detail about his current training to play Wolverine, and he joked in response that he's prepared to play the character "for the rest of his life."
