If you haven't already (and you're over 18), I highly recommend that you drop whatever your doing right now and go see Choke. The directorial debut of Clark Gregg - best known as the beloved and dearly missed Agent Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - the film is a terrific adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's book of the same name and features some awesome performances from cast members like Sam Rockwell, Anjelica Huston, Kelly Macdonald and Brad William Henke. Unfortunately Choke didn't exactly explode at the box office and it's been four years since Gregg was behind the camera, but now he's ready for his sophomore effort and has already brought a great group of actors together for it.
Rockwell, Amanda Peet, Allison Janney, William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Paul Sparks, Molly Shannon, and Niecy Nash have all signed up for parts in Trust Me, the new dark comedy being directed by Gregg. According to The Wrap, the story follows a former child actor (Gregg) who becomes an agent and then finds a "prodigal young actress" that he wants to turn into a star. Saxon Sarbino will play the girl, but no character details are given for the other characters. Gregg wrote the script himself, just as he did with the adaptation of Choke. Gregg will also be a producer on the film, making the movie under his new Savage Bunny label. Production on the movie actually began last week and UTA will be handling the sale of domestic rights.
All of you Avengers fans who were sad to see Coulson go will hopefully back Gregg on this endeavor. The guy is so likable you can't help but wish him success.
