New Clip From Never Let Me Go Needs A Haircut
With so much talent on the top line of Never Let Me Go, it’s hard to imagine this not getting some serious Oscar buzz. In fact, Katey already has it as a contender for Best Picture in her Oscar Eye column and gave it a positive review from Toronto. The story follows three children growing up in an idyllic boarding school who eventually are released into the world together with nothing but their love for each other. It’s based on the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro.
The clip will give you a peek into this world lead by Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan, and the upcoming Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield. They're talking to another couple in a similar position who have heard about something called "deferrals" for couples who came from their boarding school, Hailsham. If you know the novel's central mystery it'll all make sense, but if not, just acknowledge that everyone in this scene desperately needs a shower and a haircut, but still the idea of this boarding school and all the mystery behind it is very intriguing.
Never Let Me Go is currently enjoying a limited run with a wide release planned later down the road. Check out the clip below courtesy of Yahoo! Movies; you can also see it in high-res over there.
