Cloud Atlas Will Hit Blu-ray In May
Cloud Atlas has been forgotten by nearly everyone at this point, including Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, which has dumped its release all the way into May. This is a shame, because the film is a visual treat, an intertwining of great acting performances and vivid storylines. If you’ve been waiting and waiting to add the Wachowski’s flick to your collection, the film will hit Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download on May 14.
While the film didn’t make a big impact at the box office, bringing in only $27 million domestically, it does offer a lot in the way of thought-provoking content and great acting performances. Cloud Atlas stars a pretty epic cast including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant, Xun Zhou, Jim Broadbent, James D’Arcy, and Susan Sarandon. Luckily, fans won’t have to pay that much for all that talent. The list price for the Blu-ray combo pack, which also features a DVD copy, is only $35.99. DVD copies will run even cheaper at $28.98.
I would staunchly recommend you catch the film in High Definition if you do have the capacity and quite frankly, the Blu-ray is the better deal, as Blu-ray copies will come with all the bells and whistles and DVD copies won’t. Interestingly, the Cloud Atlas Blu-ray trends away from some of the more regularly available bonus features, including deleted scenes or audio commentary. Still, the set will offer plenty of featurettes that will looking into everything from adapting a book for film to interviews with the actors. You can check out the full list, below.
