In the spirit of Paris, Je Taime and New York, I Love You Overture is producing a collection of comedy shorts. In theory, the film will bring on a potpourri of well established comedy writers and directors. A few big names, including Peter Farrelly, Todd Phillips, and Mike Judge are attached to the project.

THR reports that Peter Farrelly has officially signed on and will serve as co-producer with Charles Wessler. The two produced Dumb and Dumber together. Farrelly’s brother, Bobby Farrelly, has yet to be announced as being involved. The two have never directed a film apart. Although Bobby Farrelly is uncredited for directing Dumb and Dumber, he is still listed on IMDB as being involved. The two have been a pair for every film/TV episode they have ever directed. So, are the brothers breaking up and going their separate ways? Doubtful, as they are signed on to direct two upcoming flicks together, Walter, the Farting Dog and The Three Stooges. However, Peter will be directing two of the shorts…presumably without Bobby. That’ll be a first!

The unnamed comedic project will include about 24 shorts, and explore different subjects. The main players that have been tapped are directors Brett Ratner (Rush Hour), Todd Phillips(Old School) and Mike Judge (Office Space). Overture has yet to announce what each of their roles will be. Josh Gordon and Will Speck (who co-wrote Blades of Glory) are circling the project as well.
