This DC Veteran Wants A Crack At The Booster Gold Film
The folks at Warner Bro. seem to have realized that following the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice fiasco, they need to take risks. It can’t be all doom and gloom; they need to bring heroes to the table that can have a bit of fun whilst being super. That rationale recently brought them to the conclusion to green light a Booster Gold movie – much to the excitement of DC fans everywhere. As more and more information about the Booster Gold movie has come forward, we’ve also learned that a veteran of DC television wants a shot at the character.
Speaking with THR about the upcoming Booster Gold movie, Greg Berlanti expressed his immense desire to helm the time-traveller’s silver screen adventure:
So it seems that the upcoming Booster Gold movie has most certainly caught his interest. It would make a great deal of sense to get Greg Berlanti involved in the production, as it’s widely believed that Booster Gold will also soon make his way to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – a show executive produced by Berlanti himself. He has a working relationship with Booster Gold’s screenwriter Zack Stentz, so Warner Bros could very well decide that this is the right course of action for the hero and the film itself.
There’s absolutely no denying that Greg Berlanti has the chops to helm a Booster Gold movie. His work on DC television with shows like Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl has proven that he fully understands how to capture the tone and style of a variety of superheroes. That being said, he also co-wrote the abominable Green Lantern solo movie that bombed in theaters back in 2011, so he’s not without his own share of failures. Overall, it seems that his victories outweigh his defeats, so we would be more than willing to get excited about a Berlanti-led Booster Gold adventure.

Anyone who knows anything about Booster Gold knows that he’s a character who could bring something incredibly new and fresh to the table. A cocky hotshot, he’s a man from a futuristic Gotham City who travels back in time in order to become a bona fide hero in contemporary times. A film centering around Booster would not only bring a much lighter tone to the DCEU, but it would allow for the introduction of certain sci-fi elements that have not yet made their way to the universe. In that regard he’s not dissimilar to Marvel’s take on Ant-Man, which worked for the competing studio when nobody thought it would.
At this early stage of development, it’s anyone’s guess as to how the Booster Gold film will pan out. DC currently finds itself in a tight spot, and a guy like Greg Berlanti could definitely add a boost (forced pun intended) to the universe.
