Dallas Critics Make United 93 Year's Best
With all the film critic’s awards being handed out this time of year, there are only a couple that actually matter to me. Well, because I voted in them. One of those Josh influenced awards is the Dallas Fort Worth Film Critics Awards, which were announced this morning.
The 35 online, broadcast, and print members of the DFWFCA went their own way this year, with awards going to a wide selection of different films. No movie won more than a single award. The DFWFCA fell in step with pretty much everyone else in the Best Actor and Actress categories, throwing their weight behind the growing throng of Forest Whitaker and Helen Mirren admirers. They should start planning a space on their mantel for Oscars. But elsewhere the group went it’s own way, awarding former Bad News Bears star Jackie Earle Haley for his supporting performance in Little Children and giving United 93 best film of 2006.
