Damon Back Into Being Bourne
Soon after The Bourne Ultimatum hit theaters and became a massive success, Matt Damon made it known that the franchise was done. He said he was afraid of becoming stale and only making safe choices, saying he was moving on from playing Bourne. And now he’s changed his mind.
Yahoo news got Damon to say he’d be up for returning to the role by asking some silly question about whether or not he’d like to do a Bourne/Bond team-up movie. He wouldn’t do a stupid team-up movie, but he’s now open to Bourne. Damon says, “If Paul Greengrass, maybe years down the road, was interested in doing another one, then I would do it, too, I don't think either of us completely put the character to bed yet.”
So though he might be open to doing it again some day, it’s probably not going to be any time soon. Maybe ten years from now we’ll get a movie about what happens when Bourne gets older and settles down. I sense a Bourne and His Boy movie in our future. I’m all for it. The character’s great, the last movie was phenomenal. You can’t go wrong with more Jason Bourne.
