Do you ever wake up at the crack of dawn and think “man, I wish a huge Summer blockbuster were starting right about now, cause I’d totally go and watch it.” Well, someone heard your cry, at least, if the Summer blockbuster you were thinking of was The Dark Knight and the day you woke up and thought this was July 18th.

According to the The New York Times (and that’s a high falutin’ real newsjournal with credibility up the wazoo, unlike myself), many theaters will have 6 A.M. showings on the opening day of the Caped Crusader’s latest epic. Like Homer finding a meal between breakfast and brunch, the theaters will meet the demand that comes from folks who can’t make the midnight or 3 A.M. shows planned, but can’t wait the all the way to 9 A.M.

Specific theaters aren’t listed in the article and although I live in a major metropolitan area with many thousands of residents the earliest you can see the movie (other than the midnight show) is 9 A.M. That’s not to say things won’t change as the mania increases and tickets continue to sell at an insane pace. So forget about work, ignore that shower, down a few cups of coffee and go watch the Joker go crazeeeee as the bloody sun rises over Gotham.
