Depp Loves Death
Johnny Depp loves a good corpse. He’s in another movie with man’s deceased state of being in the title. Add How the Dead Love to Dead Man’s Chest, The Corpse Bride, From Hell (well it’s where you go when you die… if you’re me), Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, and Dead Man.
TMZ reports that Depp has signed up to do an animated film called How the Dead Love. The film will be based on four short stories from the work of Charles Bukowski, blended together into a single film. Bukowski’s last name may sound like a euphemism for some sort of perverted sex act, but that’s only because he was born in Germany. In fact, he was a frequently imitated Los Angeles poet and novelist.
The movie is directed by Gabor Csupo, who has produced things like The Simpsons, Rugrats, and The Wild Thornberries. He’s also the director of Bridge to Terabithia which, in case you haven’t already heard, is not a fantasy movie. But Csupo says How the Dead Love is not a family movie. He insists that it’s an animated movie for adults, in the vein of the 70s Fritz the Cat cartoons.
Johnny’s job on the project is to provide a voice for How the Dead Love’s main character. He’ll also produce it through his production company.
