Dermot Mulroney Hits The Soccer Field
You know how they say men get better with age? Well, that’s often not the case (pot bellies and bald heads, galore!) but for Dermot Mulroney, the theory applies. At 43, the actor has never looked better, and he is landing some interesting roles. Look no further than David Fincher’s Zodiac, out in 2007.
According to MovieHole, he has also signed up for the family drama Gracie, joining siblings Elisabeth and Andrew Shue. The sports movie, set in 1978, is loosely based on real events that happened within the Shue family.
Carly Schroeder (Firewall) will play the title role of Gracie, a 16-year-old girl who is deeply effected by a family tragedy. She uses this fire to fight for the rights of girls everywhere to play competitive team soccer. Like most sports movies, she succeeds in her plight. Crack out the hankies.
Mulroney is set to play the determined girl’s father, Elisabeth will play her mother, and Andrew, best known for his work as Billy on “Melrose Place”, is the coach. Picturehouse will release the film next summer, and shooting began this past Monday.
