Parkour is “an activity in which the participant moves quickly and fluidly, by surmounting obstacles such as walls and railings and leaping across open spaces.” Never heard of it? Well, get ready to get a crash course in this brand new trailer for District 13: Ultimatum.
It’s the sequel to 2004’s District 13, a film taking place in the gang-ridden ghetto known as B13. Capt. Damien Tomaso (Cyril Raffaelli), an undercover cop, teams up with a reformed vigilante named Leïto (David Belle) in order to put a stop to a potential terrorist threat. Ultimatum picks up two years later with our heroes trying to stop a group of corrupt cops and politicians looking to take advantage of the area’s deteriorating condition. Leïto and Damien have to stop the money hungry before they can destroy the district via nuclear air strike and redevelop the area.
Forget the plot, these stunts are awesome! I’m not one for fight-heavy films or even impressive Jet Li-esque performances, but what these guys are capable of is astonishing. On top of that, the original film was very well received by critics across the board. Come February 5th, 2010 we could have another fantastically action-packed film.
