Dog Day Afternoon
If man's best friend is a dog, one might ask why he would force his best friend to sink to the same level of shallow perfection bestowed upon humans. Some friend.
According to Variety, New Line Cinema is releasing a movie called Show Dogs, about exactly what the title suggests. John Landis, the helmer of such funny fluff as Animal House and Blues Brothera is directing the script written by Mike Bender. He's the guy who brought us the HBO series "Mind Of The Married Man." Don't worry, nobody else remembers the show either.
The film is about a homeless Jack Russell terrier that's ripped from the streets and tossed into the competitive world of dog shows. He will be primped, pruned, and receive the best manicures this side of the Atlantic. Ah, the sweet smell of superficiality.
Keep your eye out for Show Dogs sometime next year.
