When in Doubt, Remake 'IT'

The remake/reinvision phenomenon in the modern day of the film world is a phenomenon that pisses a good majority of us off. Now, once again comes the news of a remake that isn’t necessary (that is if any of them really are).

Stephen King adaptations are known to have far less superior remakes to classic horror flicks. The made for TV versions of The Shining and Carrie hardly hold a candle to Kubrick and DePalma. With a new Made for TV version of Salem’s Lot on the way scribe Peter Filardi mentioned that he will now tackle another Stephen King work, IT.

Stephen King’s It has already been done! And on TV no less. Less than a year after It stars Jonathon Brandis and John Ritter are in the grave and they want to trample on what of the better Made for TV horror movies? This is garbage! Okay, so I’m a little biased. But I have good reason.

quote:Filardi: But we think we have a neat angle. If you remember ['Stuttering Bill' Denbrough] the writer was sort've the main character. But we're going to take it from Beverly Marsh's point of view...Here's this girl in the center of this big ensemble of guys. Going with her point of view is neat, it'll allow us a little bit of license.

Now you can see why this pisses me off....changing the whole thing.....ah...whattayagonnado? Salem’s Lot debuts on television sometime next month.
