TMZ is incredibly reliable when it comes to learning who's been arrested, hospitalized, sued, etc.-- they've got spies in every court system and police station in the world, it seems. But when it comes to Hollywood casting their information can be a lot more dubious, especially when they're claiming Lindsay Lohan is up for any role, and really especially when they say she's in talks for Zack Snyder's Superman.
So yeah, today TMZ is reporting that "we're told Lindsay is supposed to meet personally with the Superman people soon," and that Warner Bros. had no comment on their story. They say she's not up for Lois Lane but a different "major character," which could easily be the rumored URSA role we've heard about. And hell, it's entirely possible that Lohan has heard the part is up for grabs and is going for it. But that gives us no reason to believe that Warner Bros. actually wants her on board.
I'm probably as big a defender of Lohan's talents as anyone out there, but her comeback still seems a long way off, given that she's currently facing felony charges and shows no sign of actually wanting to get her shit back together. Her comeback role may still be on its way, but it's almost definitely not on something as major as Superman. Sorry, TMZ-- we're not buying this one.
