Dunst Checks Out Blondie
Musical biopics are still all the rage, and Kirsten Dunst may be on the verge of hopping on the Ray/Walk the Line bandwagon. The guys over at JoBlo have been reading notorious gossip columnist Liz Smith who says that Kirsten is considering playing famed fem rocker Deborah Harry.
Harry is best known as the lead singer of Blondie, a band named after the color of her hair. Substantial stuff. She's also a punk icon of sorts, though is there enough there to warrant a movie? Honestly does anyone care enough about Deborah Harry to sit through an entire movie about her? Better question: Will anyone care about Kirsten Dunst once her Mary Jane character is finally killed off in Spider-Man? I think I'll sit down and breathe a sigh of relief. It's not easy liking her, but I've done it these past few years for Peter Parker's sake. I think we've all had enough.
I mean, I guess Kirsten can pull this role off. She has the right hair color, and she's incredibly weird looking which could be an asset when playing a punk icon. Why not. Shake her hair around, scream a lot, inject her with copious amounts of illegal and suspicious drugs and you've got a rock n' roll movie.
