If you live in New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago or Miami and fought for The Avengers to screen early in your town, your efforts have already paid off. Those five cities have been "unlocked" as part of a campaign to have fans vote for their city to get an early assemblage of Avengers, and RSVP lines are open now on Facebook to reserve your spot. The movie will screen on April 14 in those cities, and there's a decent chance that by the time you read this, they'll all be booked already.
But wait, it's not too late! Five more cities will also get the advance screenings, but only if you use Facebook for good. If you and your lock friends "like" the official Avengers Facebook page, you can also win the chance to unlock your city. Of course, numbers will work in your favor, so if you're trying really hard to get Edgefield, South Carolina on the list, you'll have to work double-time. If you need more motivation, though, Samuel L. Jackson-- a.k.a. Nick Fury himself-- has recorded a congratulations video to the winning cities and posted it to Facebook. Don't you want Nick Fury to be proud of you? Well, don't you??
The Avengers opens everywhere May 4, so even if your city doesn't get an early screening, you won't have too long to wait. But for now, the game is afoot! Get liking!
