The last time Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg teamed up, they gave the world Flags of Our Fathers. I’m sure they are sorry for that, but they also churned out Letters From Iwo Jima for which no apology is needed. These two old warhorses aren’t done yet, though. They’ve decided to team up in a movie that takes place somewhere besides a South Pacific island occupied by the Japanese. Way to branch out fellas.
According to the fine folks at Variety Eastwood will direct a supernatural thriller called Hereafter. The script was written by Peter Morgan who also wrote the supernatural thriller Frost/Nixon. Actually, Frost/Nixon was more about an ex-president, but it’s the same general idea, right?
How does Spielberg fit into all this? Well, Hereafter is being made by DreamWorks. Spielberg works for DreamWorks as a security guard or some such. Can’t wait to see what Dirty Harry and, uh, Dirty Steven cook up with this movie that is supposed to be in the vein of The Sixth Sense.
