Edgar Wright's The World's End Debuts A Hilarious, Creepy First Trailer
Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have never failed to deliver absolutely amazing work whenever they've collaborated as a trio. It began with the brilliant, pop-culture injected Spaced. Then they gave birth to the zom-rom-com with Shaun of the Dead. And then in 2007 they delivered the perfect tribute to the action movie genre with Hot Fuzz. And finally, after a six year wait, they are back together.
Above is the first ever trailer for The World's End, which comes to us via MSN UK. The movie is the conclusion to Wright, Pegg and Frost's Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, and watching this trailer it appears that they have once again created something fantastic. I don't know what the hell those glowing face people were, but they are terrifying and I can't wait to see them on the big screen.
Directed by Wright, The World's End stars Pegg, Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan as five childhood friends who during their youth once attempted the golden mile pub crawl - 12 drinks in 12 pubs - and failed. After going their separate ways years later they are brought back together to try the pub crawl again. Only their hometown isn't exactly what they remembered. While theaters in the UK are lucky enough to get the film on July 19th, here in the United States we'll have to wait until August 23rd.
