Edward Norton Speaks Out For Himself On Being Left Out Of The Avengers

You've already heard what Marvel had to say about not bringing Edward Norton back to play The Hulk in The Avengers, and then what Norton's agent had to say in a pretty angry response. But how does the man who would be Bruce Banner feel about all this? Perhaps surprisingly, not all that Hulk-like at all.

Norton posted a message via a photo on his Facebook page (random, right?) in which he pretty even-handedly said he was sorry he wouldn't get to be in The Avengers, and best of luck to whoever gets the part. "I know this is disappointing to many people and that makes me sad. But I am very sincerely grateful to Marvel for extending the offer and even more so for giving me the chance to be a part of the Hulk's long and excellent history."

You can read the full letter below, and click on it for the larger version. It really makes it feel like more of a shame that it's come to this, and Norton-- a guy who doesn't seem all that easy to work with, sure, but isn't the worst of people-- will be the odd man out when the Avengers assemble later this year. It's a tough business out there.
