Ender's Game Movie Trailer Will Arrive Next Week

Those of us who weren't at CinameCon have only had a couple of glimpses at the Ender's Game movie, in the form of two stills and one peek at the zero gravity Battle Room in the first official poster for the adaptation of Orson Scott Card's popular sci-fi novel. We'll be getting another look at the movie soon enough, as the trailer is set to make its online debut in less than a week.

The announcement was made on the Ender's Game Facebook page last night, that the trailer would debut in 7 days, which is May 7 (next Tuesday.)

Directed by Gavin Hood, Ender's Game stars Asa Butterfield as a kid who's recruited to join other gifted children in a space-set battle school where humanity is preparing to fight a war against an alien race. Harrison Ford plays Colonel Graff and Ben Kingsley plays International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham. Also among the cast are Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin and Viola Davis. The movie arrives in theaters November 1.

Eric gave us a pretty great breakdown of the footage featured in the first trailer, which was revealed to attendees at CinemaCon last month. We've had that to tide us over while we wait to see the trailer for ourselves. It was looking like we were going to have to wait until Star Trek Into Darkness hit theaters later in the month to see the trailer, but apparently not. Fans should expect it to go live on YouTube and Google in less than a week's time.

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way).
