Eva Longoria Plays Decomposing Housewife
Eva Longoria has scored television gold as the dangerously seductive Gabrielle Solis on ABC’s “Desperate Housewives”. Now, she is looking to go where so many T.V stars have gone before: the big screen. Since only a select few have found success in movies, Longoria is making a smart move and not quitting her day job.
According to Variety, she will join Paul Rudd and Lake Bell (“Surface”) in How I Met My Boyfriend’s Dead Fiancee. The story is about a skeptical character (Rudd) who meets and falls in love with a psychic (Bell). Their romance is interrupted by his persistent dead fiancé (Longoria), who tries diligently to keep them apart. She may have passed on to another dimension but nobody is getting their grubby hands on her man. Can everyone say, “Awkward!”?
Longoria has cut a deal with ABC this fall where she will work weekends on Dead Fiancée while working on “Desperate Housewives” during the week. On top of all that, she is starring in Disney’s upcoming Deep In The Heart of Texas (busy girl) and spending time with basketball beau Tony Parker. Paul Rudd is currently coming off the Broadway play “Three Days of Rain” as well as the much-deserved success of last year’s 40 Year-old Virgin. This fall, he will be searching for things to do to pass time during the week, so if you’re in the area, maybe you can take him out for coffee or something?
The movie, which is being directed by newbie Jeff Lowell, will begin shooting in August in Hollywood.
