Everyone Has Missed A Huge Guardians Of The Galaxy Easter Egg

In the past few weeks, director James Gunn has done his part to shut down some rumored Easter Eggs in Guardians of the Galaxy. He has not only confirmed that the inclusion of Adam Warlock's cocoon in The Collector's museum was a rather random choice, but has also shut down talk that Beta Ray Bill can be spotted in a cage. These revelations have somewhat disappointed fans, but the good news is that there are still some hidden Marvel treasures to be found in the movie.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, James Gunn has confirmed that there is one major Easter Egg left in Guardians of the Galaxy that nobody has spotted yet - at least as far as he knows. Asked about the material in the Marvel Studios film that fans have yet to discover, the director said,

"There's definitely some things that people haven't seen. There's definitely one really big thing that people haven't seen, but they may never see it -- we'll see. There's other things, too. The other day, I posted on my Instagram a picture of the other guys going for the Infinity Stone in the temple of Morag and I didn't see anybody bringing that up until just a couple of weeks ago."

Here is the picture that he was talking about:

As you may be able to tell, the six colors in the middle of the circle each represent a different color infinity stone, and there appear to be four different species of warriors charging and trying to obtain them. It makes sense that this panel would be featured in the temple on Morag given that it's the location where Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord first steals the Orb, represented in the image by the purple rectangle. Spotting this cool little design probably would have been almost impossible in theaters, as it likely doesn't show up for more than a few frames. That being said, James Gunn expects that more Guardians of the Galaxy secrets will be uncovered very soon thanks to the fact that the film is coming out on Blu-ray, DVD and other home media release formats. Said Gunn,

"I do notice that people are noticing more things now that they've got the digital download. People are starting to see things that they didn't notice in the theaters, even those people who saw it twenty times."

Sadly, Gunn didn't provide any details or clues regarding the big Easter Egg that nobody has spotted yet - which admittedly makes me wonder if it's not something that points to the direction we may see the titular group go in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. But what could it possibly be? Is it another cool alien/creature that can be spotted inside The Collector's museum? Does it have something to do with Thanos and his quest to gather all of the Infinity Stones? Or is it a big cameo that nobody has correctly identified just yet? Hopefully someone out there will be able to find it and then send it James Gunn's way for confirmation.
