New Evidence The Flash May Be In Batman v Superman
The green socks started the conversation. Scoot McNairy’s quotes are kicking the discussion into a higher gear.
We know that Argo co-star Scoot McNairy, a star on the rise, locked down a mysterious role in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But when he was photographed on the set recently wearing long, green socks on his legs, speculation ran wild. The socks looked like tools that one would use to later manipulate an actor’s legs, which led to guesses that McNairy was playing The Flash, a deformed Robin, or a different character new to the DC universe. (Read our best guesses here!) McNairy doesn’t reveal his role, but he does confess that he believes he’ll be staying in these movies for a while.
In an interview with Schmoes Know, McNairy admitted:
Hope? Dream? Or know? Because our guess is that Scoot McNairy knows exactly who he is playing in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and he knows whether he’ll be part of the Justice League movie that Zack Snyder wants to move along to next (several years down the road from now).
If we had to guess, we’d say McNairy will play The Flash alongside his Argo co-star and director, Ben Affleck. On that note, McNairy said knowing Affleck didn’t help him get this Dawn of Justice gig:
But for how long? That’s the mystery. Landing a cameo in an overcrowded movie like Batman v Superman isn’t necessarily a career-changing move. This movie already has to find room for Wonder Woman (confirmed) and the rumored participation of Aquaman and Cyborg. Add them to the established Man of Steel co-stars like Lois Lane (Amy Adams), Perry White (Laurence Fishburne)… oh, and Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill)!
But, if Scoot McNairy’s green socks mean that he’s playing The Flash for the foreseeable future, then yes, that will be something to celebrate.
