Evil Dead 4 Not Happening Yet
We all had big plans for the summer, didn't we? Spending more time outside, reading that long book, starting a garden, all things that sound appealing in theory and then never really manage to get accomplished. Sam Raimi had plans too, but his were to write an Evil Dead 4, and he made the mistake of announcing them at Comic Con. Then, just like your summertime garden, it never happened.
“We never did it,” Raimi said to MTV News about himself and his brother Ivan, who planned to help him start a script in August. “There was too much work to do on Drag Me to Hell.” Drag Me To Hell, which stars Alison Lohman and Justin Long, will be a return to horror form for Raimi, and will probably satisfy some of his longtime fans. But don't give up on Evil Dead 4 entirely, either. "I’m honored some people want to see it, and I’d like to do it, and one day I will. I just don’t know when.”
I'm inclined to give the guy some slack-- it sounds like he and Ivan have a good time when they work together, and you hate to rush a creative process that has the possibility to give us something great. We just have to take his promises with a grain of salt from now on, and hope we all live long enough to see Evil Dead 4 finally come to exist.
