Exclusive Willow Blu-ray Clip Brings Some Magic
It’s hard to believe Willow is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. The 1988 film captured a lot of imagination, as well as featured the epic duo of director Ron Howard and writer and producer George Lucas. To celebrate the story of a small man taking a big and courageous journey, Twentieth Century Fox has put together a nice Blu-ray release for the flick, which will hit stores on March 12. Additionally, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has put together an exclusive Blu-ray bonus clip to remind fans of the magic of the feature film.
In the clip, Willow (Warwick Davis) is tasked with helping Raziel turn from a rodent into her human form. Distracted by Madmartigan (Val Kilmer), among others, Willow’s heart is willing, but he’s not quite up to the task. If you’ve seen the movie, you already know Raziel occupies plenty of forms throughout the film, although the crow form Willow forces on her is probably one of her more unattractive predicaments.
Willow has kind of been forgotten in the popular cultural lexicon, but for some, the movie is a fond adventure story offering plenty of magic and battles of good versus evil. This release is really for those latter fans, offering bonus features with brand new introductions, as well as other extras. Perhaps more importantly, the film has gotten a digital transfer that Lucasfilm was highly involved in. Those two things may not be enough for a repurchase if you already own the flick, but if you aren't already a proud owner, next week may be the time to buy.
