Final Girl Gets Some New Art And Cast Additions Including Wes Bentley
The "final girl" is a trope frequently used in horror movies, referring to the remaining female character left to face off against the murderer(s) or monster. In the case of Tyler Shield's upcoming film Final Girl, the female lead is intentionally set up for this scenario, but little do her attackers know, she's more than capable of taking care of herself. Even with her back to us, she gives off that impression in the new poster.
ShockTillYouDrop reports that Wes Bentley, Logan Huffman, Michael Trevino, Connor Paolo and Francesca Eastwood have been added to the cast of Final Girl, joining Abigail Breslin and Alexander Ludwig. Bentley and Ludwig share The Hunger Games among their credits, with Bentley having played Seneca Crane in the feature adaptation of Suzanne Collins novel, while Ludwig played Cato, a character who knows a little something about hunting girls in the woods, and that brings us to the plot of Final Girl. The film follows Veronica, a loner and the new girl in school who's targeted by a bunch of guys who like to lure girls into the woods to hunt and kill them. Unbeknownst to them, Veronica is training to become an assassin and it sounds like the tables turn when the hunted becomes the hunter.
The poster below (via Bloody-disgusting) gives us a look at Veronica from the back, clothes torn, knife in hand and looking ready for a fight.
Her face may not be in view, but her posture suggests she's ready for a fight.
Here's the official synopsis for the movie.
Final Girl is expected to begin shooting next month.
