First Clip From Somewhere Doesn't Deliver The Substance
When the first trailer for Sofia Coppola's Somewhere broke back in June, it was hard to get a grasp on exactly what the film was about, not because it was complicated but because it was somewhat like looking into a dark void. There is Los Angeles scenery, a lot of white, Elle Fanning looking cute and a lot of silence. Based on that and the first clip from the film, I am curious if more than ten lines of dialogue will be spoken.
Reelz Channel has released the first clip from the film which features Stephen Dorff and Michelle Monaghan taking some publicity photos (they both play actors in the film), and that's about all we get. Ninety percent of the video is the sound of a camera shutter. Here's hoping that when the full film comes out that it's filled with a bit more substance, because this is pretty dry.
