First Trailer For The Remake Of Nicolas Winding Refn's Pusher
Drive wasn't a huge box office smash and the Academy Awards only gave the movie one nomination, but the movie has definitely made people stand up and take notice of director Nicolas Winding Refn. In addition to winning the Best Director award at last year's Cannes Film Festival, Drive was a hit with critics and has already developed a cult following (which I am happy to be a part of). While we wait for his next film, though - which will be the drama Only God Forgives, starring Ryan Gosling - people have begun looking at the filmmakers previous work. As a result, audiences have begun discovering the Pusher trilogy, the director's earliest work that launched his career.
But for those that are interested in Refn's work but don't like reading subtitles, director Luis Prieto has a treat. With Refn serving as executive producer, Prieto made an English language remake of the original Pusher and now the first trailer has arrived online, courtesy of Yahoo! UK.
The story follows a low-level drug dealer named Frank (Richard Coyle) who finds his life spin out of control when a deal goes bad and he finds himself in the debt of a powerful local gangster. Pusher co-stars Agyness Deyn, Bronson Webb Mem Ferda, Zlatko Buric, Neil Maskell and Paul Kaye. While the movie doesn't yet have a US release date, but you can see more from the title in our Blend Film Database.
