First Trailer For The Stoner Comedy High Road
The world of comedy would be a much worse place without marijuana. In addition to the fact that we wouldn't have Cheech and Chong, Jay and Silent Bob and Harold and Kumar without it, weed has the uncanny ability to make even the smartest people do dumb things and dumb people do even stupider things. In results in people acting like idiots and going on random adventures, which, of course, is how a fun story starts. Even better is when you get a bunch of already hilarious people, like Lizzy Caplan, Ed Helms, Rob Riggle, Zach Woods, Joe Lo Truglio, Kyle Gass, and Andrew Daly, and introduce some pot into the mix. With that equation the result you get is High Road, the new improvised comedy from writer/director and UCB alum Matt Walsh.
The first trailer for the film has arrived online, courtesy of Hulu, and you can watch it below.
The story follows a young slacker named Glenn “Fitz” Fitzgerald (James F. Pumphrey) who is at a crossroads in his life, with his band breaking up and being stuck dealing weed out of his garage. Things go seriously wrong, however, when a deal goes bad and Fitz is forced to go on the road with a young neighborhood kid whom he has befriended named Jimmy (Dylan O’Brien). Things only get messier from there as he must deal with a seemingly endless amount of trouble before he finds himself at safe-harbor. High Road is being released by Millennium Entertainment and will arrive on VOD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download on March 6th.
