Flowery Poster For John Madden's The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Due out next March, director John Madden’s The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has remained relatively under the radar considering the caliber of talent he’s got on board for the film. Dame Judy Dench, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson, Dev Patel, and one of my personal favorites Bill Nighy adorn the top line meaning that no matter what this film winds up being about we’re going to see some top men and women doing what they do best.
The first poster for the film has emerged and if you like flowers you’re in for a treat. It gives you literally no idea what the film may be about, but is gleefully void of floating heads and bad Photoshop work. Check it out below.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, if you didn’t gather this from the list of aging actors, follows a group of retired folks who are looking to better their quality of life and move to India to what is advertised as a glorious retreat for those looking to spend their golden years in luxury. What they find when they get there is a mess of a place, but regardless the crew finds themselves growing closer and discovering new relationships.
Madden’s most recent film The Debt garnered some great reviews, but sadly Nazis don’t quite have the box office draw they once did. Marigold Hotel will be quite a departure from that, but the sporadically busy Madden has a lot of experience crafting drama and even nominated for an Oscar for Shakespeare in Love.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel sounds like it will be a sweet look into the lives of those who have loved and lost and are looking for new love again. Prepare yourselves though, while this is listed as drama/comedy, expect tears when the film hits March 9, 2012.
