Freeman Plays Rembrandt
Freeman will play the Dutch painter Rembrandt. That probably sounds a little weird, except it's not Morgan Freeman but his younger, whiter, more British, extremely distant cousin Martin we're talking about here.
Martin Freeman, whom you may remember as "Arthur" in Hitchhiker's Guide, has been cast in the film Nightwatching for director Peter Greenway according to The Hollywood Reporter. As the title suggests, the film will focus on the creation of one of Rembrandt van Rijn's most famous paintings, call "The Nightwatch" (pictured to your right). They'll also mix in plenty about how making it affected his personal life. No, he didn't cut off an ear. That was that other guy.
Also on board is the once famous Minnie Driver as Geertje and Sarah Polley as Saskia.
They'll start shooting next month, presumably in Holland since the project is somehow being linked to a Rembrandt exhibition being put on in Amersterdam by Greenway. Or maybe he's just selling tooth polish. Either way, Nightwatching is linked to something going on in the roach clip capital of the world. If you're there put down your bong, poke up your head, and see what's going on.
