From Spy Kids To Stiller
Carla Gugino, who played the mother everyone wanted to have in Spy Kids and then took that same phrase to the next level in Sin City, is going back to comedy. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gugino is in talks with 20th Century Fox to star in A Night at the Museum. So who has she traded in Antonio Banderas and Mickey Rourke for? Ben Stiller.
Yes, it’s that kind of comedy.
The story for A Night at the Museum features Stiller playing a security guard at a natural history museum, “who’s [sic] goofiness trips a curse that brings said relics back to life”. With a plot like that, the movie is pretty much limited to Stiller in the leading role… or maybe Andy Dick. The movie will feature a mixture of live action and CGI, as well as hopefully Gugino to distract from the rest of what sounds like a horrible mess of a movie.
The film is set to begin shooting next month, with a late 2006 release date.
