Full Batman v Superman Trailer Leaks Online
Earlier tonight, a portion of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer made its way online, but now it seems as though the entire thing has appeared… albeit with subtitles. UPDATE: The official trailer has arrived online! You can watch it below:
Picking up after the events of Man of Steel - which saw the world meet Superman (Henry Cavill) for the first time, it seems as though the world of the DC Cinematic Universe is divided, with some people believing that the alien from Krypton is a hero, while others believing that he is a "false god" and possibly a threat. This is evidently what leads him to cross paths with Batman (Ben Affleck), who obviously has a very keen interest in making the red and blue newcomer bleed.
There is quite a lot to absorb in this trailer – which comes to us via The Hollywood Reporter - and it’s hard to really focus on any one particular thing. First, there’s all of the pure rage that seems to be boiling just under the surface in this comic book world – seemingly all generated by nothing more than fear. Then there are the beautiful, almost religious-like images of various characters either bowing down or reaching out to Superman. There’s the grisly voice of Jeremy Irons’ Alfred, as he talks to a stone-faced Bruce Wayne staring at his Batsuit. Even the Batmobile and what looks like could be the Batwing make an explosive appearance. It’s all pretty damn awesome.
If I had to choose my favorite element at this point in time, however, it would have to be the Bat-Voice. As much praise as Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy received, fans were rather merciless when it came to the disguised, gravelly voice of Christian Bale’s Batman. Going by this trailer, it looks like Zack Snyder has gone in a completely different direction with his approach, and it sounds great. While we’ll probably have to wait until it’s confirmed in the movie, it sounds like the Dark Knight has a modulator built into his suit, allowing him to talk clearly in a voice that really doesn’t sound anything like Ben Affleck. It sounds both awesome and scary at the same time, which is exactly how Batman’s voice should sound.
For those of you waiting, it won’t be long until an HD version of this trailer will be coming. As we officially learned last night, this upcoming Monday will see IMAX theaters around the country hold specialty screenings of the first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer – and it’s been said that these events will actually feature footage that won’t be included in the online release that will be coming the next day. Stay tuned for more updates, and hit the comments to tell us what you think of the trailer.
