You could probably make the case that the original 1980 Fame is responsible for kicking our culture towards its current state of utter narcissism. I’m not saying it was directly to blame for The Real World, MTV and subsequently American Idol; but maybe it had a hand in putting us on that everybody wants to be famous path. If we’re lucky, the upcoming Fame remake will also be the movie to end it, and if it is the end (Come on, this look at me bullshit has to burn out eventually doesn’t it?) this could be a pretty great way for the American Idol generation’s overdue fade to black.
At least that’s my hope, after watching the brand new, full length trailer for Fame: The Do Over. This second trailer is a big improvement over the original teaser. Better music, better dialogue, better in every way. Watch it and then get over yourself in high-res at Yahoo or in Blend-res below:
