Get Chills With the Poster for Frozen

Adam Green, director of a personal horror favorite of mine Hatchet and its upcoming sequel, has been spending his time off crafting what is being touted as yet another excellent and original horror film called Frozen. The film just premiered at Ain't It Cool's Butt-Numb-A-Thon and will be skiing over to Sundance after the new year, with a wide open scheduled for February 5th. How wide? That has yet to be determined, but if the buzz is any indicator, you should find a way to go see it.

The gruesome lads over at Shock Till You Drop have snagged a pretty awesome poster for the film that not only is completely void of floating heads, but gives you a pretty solid idea about what the story entails. Also attached to the article is this synopsis of the story:

A typical day on the slopes turns into a chilling nightmare for three snowboarders when they get stranded on the chairlift before their last run. As the ski patrol switches off the night lights, they realize with growing panic that they've been left behind dangling high off the ground with no way down. With the resort closed until the following weekend and frostbite and hypothermia already setting in, the trio is forced to take desperate measures to escape off the mountain before they freeze to death. Once they make their move, they discover with horror that they have much more to fear than just the frigid cold. As they combat unexpected obstacles, they start to question if their will to survive is strong enough to overcome the worst ways to die?

Essentially it is Open Water except on a ski lift, which is pretty intriguing considering that instead of just floating around helplessly, the Frozen kids actually have some daring options for escape. There is a little bit of spoiler action on the poster though. As you can see there are only two kids on the lift rather than the three mentioned in the synopsis, which not only tells us that at least one kid dies, the black kid is not the first to go. Score one for equality.
