A few weeks ago I got the chance to talk to Bruce Joel Rubin as he was promoting The Time Traveler's Wife, the romance he wrote for Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana. Having won an Oscar for Ghost, he was pretty familiar with love stories tinged with the supernatural, and for his next project, he seems to be once again sticking to what he knows.

According to THR, Rubin will be writing the screenplay for a remake of the Japanese film Resurrection, with the American version currently being retitled Rainbow Bridge. The original 2003 film is set in a town where the dead have risen from the grave, but rather than feasting on the brains of the living, they resume their normal lives as if nothing has changed. I actually have no idea if there's romance in this story, but it sounds like the exact mix between bizarre and normal that Rubin excels at.
