Godzilla Toys Provide A Good Look At The Reboot's Other Monster
We've know since early last year that Gareth Edwards' upcoming Godzilla reboot would feature a monster other than just the eponymous one - but even though we've seen many trailers for the film we have yet to get a good look at it. Footage has shown hints of a giant flying creature and a weird foot, but for the most part all of the attention has been put on the King of the Monsters. Thanks to the toy website SciFiJapan, however, we now have a very good idea of what we can expect.
The site has run images of many, many, many different kinds of promotional items that will be released alongside Godzilla in theaters, and while most of the shots are of the titular beast, the collection also includes images of an eight-legged winged creature called Muto. Scroll through the images below to both the different variations of toys as well as multiple angles on his design:
While these may not be 100% exactly what Muto will look like in the movie, it probably is a fair approximation. See if you can spot him in the trailer below:
Did you see it?
We're not entirely sure how Muto fits into the larger plot of Godzilla, but we'll find out when the movie - which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn, and Bryan Cranston - arrives in theaters on May 16th.
