Guardians Of The Galaxy Will Contain An Unbelievable Cameo From An Infamous 80s Character
While I was on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy last year with a group of other reporters interviewing director James Gunn, one of the most fascinating things he promised us was that the movie would contain more Marvel Comics characters than have ever been featured in one feature before. Of course, not all of the characters will be instantly recognizable - how many of you knew that the Guardians of the Galaxy existed before the live-action film? - but my mind raced to think of all the crazy Marvel Cosmic characters who could be included. That said, there was one name above all that I wanted to see - and today he was confirmed to make an appearance.
WARNING: If you consider cameos as spoilers, then you are going to want to stay clear of the rest of this article. I can promise that there won't be any big plot details revealed, but if you're overly cautious you might want to head over HERE for an array of other pieces we've written about Guardians of the Galaxy.
Are you ready for this, people?
Are you sure?
Well...
Howard The Duck makes an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy!
This news comes to us thanks to Stitch Kingdom, which learned about the cameo appearance thanks to an official credited cast listing that was released by Disney for Guardians of the Galaxy. While there is no information about exactly what Howard the Duck will be doing in the movie, apparently the character's co-creators Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik are listed in the end credits, which means that he will show up in one form or another.

What makes this news so special, of course, is that this will not be the first time that Howard the Duck has been featured in a movie. In fact, back in 1986 executive producer George Lucas and director Willard Huyck teamed up to make a Howard The Duck solo feature - which, to this day, is one of the most mocked projects to ever come out of Hollywood. It was a complete and utter disaster, and sullied Howard The Duck's name.
But could this cameo be exactly what he needs to make a comeback? Could Marvel Studios one day consider actually making another Howard The Duck movie, and deliver the redemption the character deserves? If Marvel Studios was willing to make Guardians of the Galaxy, is it too crazy to think that they might try a Howard The Duck remake?
