New Guardians Of The Galaxy Featurette Takes You On A Tour Of Star-Lord's Ship
I think we can all agree that the MTV Cribs motif for this new Guardians of the Galaxy featurette is just a tad bit tired, but considering it gives us a behind the scenes look at an awesome spaceship and some time with star Chris Pratt, I think we can let it slide.
Marvel is hoping to continue Guardians of the Galaxy's stupidly amazing box office performance going into its second weekend, and it's doing so by pushing all kinds of new details and videos - this one taking us on a trip through the inside of Star-Lord's ship, The Milano. While it can't be said that the entire spacecraft was built on set, it is pretty amazing just how much of it was actually constructed and built. How seriously kick-ass is this cockpit?
The attention to detail in the lounge area is fantastic:
The only negative thing that I will say about The Milano is that it doesn't look terribly comfortable to sleep in. Guardians of the Galaxy doesn't feature any scenes where the characters are going to bed, so it's possible that there are some technological aids involved, but can you really tell me that this looks like a nice place to catch some z's?
Guardians of the Galaxy definitely has some stiff competition in the form of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as it heads into week two of domestic release, but the Marvel film is one that seriously demands seeing more than once. Even if the movie follows the typical trend and makes 60% of its first week total, that still means that the James Gunn-written and directed movie will pull in more than $56.4 million. The previous August opening record before Guardians obliterated it was The Bourne Ultimatum with $69.3 million, so $56.4 million would still be an amazing score and could potentially be more than enough to keep the number one spot at the box office through Sunday.
