Halloween Delayed?
Rob Zombie remains on my list of “filmmakers” (and I use that term loosely) to avoid. While he has shown a little skill in the horror genre, I’d much rather he stick to making music and letting more experienced filmmakers work in the industry. I’m even less interested in Zombie being given the reigns to remake John Carpenter’s classic Halloween. However, Zombie may be proving himself as being capable of making the right decisions if the latest rumors are to be believed: Zombie is holding off on production of Halloween in order to go back and mend his script.
According to Bloody Disgusting, the rumormill has generated the idea that Zombie has returned to the script for re-writes, possibly in response to contradicting script reviews posted by other sites last week. The idea that Zombie might be reacting to those reviews is interesting, especially since he responded to fan outrage over reviews on his myspace page, urging fans to stop being influenced so much by the thoughts of others.
Bloody Disgusting pushes the idea that this is a rumor in their story, and they typically have a good idea about these things, so we’ll reinforce the same. The truth will come when Zombie’s Halloween actually heads into production, whether it be sooner or later.
