Harrelson Walks On The Wild Side
After watching American Gigolo starring Richard Gere, did you ever wonder what he would be like by age 50? Yeah, me neither, but apparently writer/director Paul Schrader thinks it would look something like Woody Harrelson.
Variety reports that Woody has joined the cast of The Walker, which Schrader is writing and directing, based on his opinion of what would come of the Gigolo later in life. “His gifts are now more social than sexual,” he says. "He’s this society walker who has his lady friends, and a boyfriend on the side.”
Let’s rewind. The story is about a gay male escort who makes a living by escorting rich society ladies to functions in Washington, D.C. Schrader adds: ”[Woody’s] wittiness is the initial point of entry for the viewer into a story which takes a dark turn. This will be quite a transformation for him, from the hairpiece and his manner to the clothes he wears.”
The cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Lauren Bacall, Ned Beatty, Moritz Bleibtreu, Willem Dafoe, and Lily Tomlin.
