Harry Potter Trio Reuniting For One Final Adventure

Great Gringotts! We’re about to get more Harry Potter through a reunion of original stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint!

There’s a catch, however. (There always is, right?) You are going to have to venture down to Orlando, Florida to see the new, footage, which Radcliffe, Watson and Grint reportedly filmed for use on the new Gringotts ride at Universal Studios Orlando. MTV learned that the original Harry Potter trio reunited to film brand new scenes that will play during the ride, which opens this summer. Alan Gilmore, who served as art director for both the new Harry Potter ride and the Warner Bros. films, told MTV in an interview:

"They’ll be there! It’s quite exciting. They’re regrouping for one last adventure. … It’s all new, it’s a brand new film. And it’s absolutely film quality, involving the films team, a merging of the film team and the Universal production team."

The ride, dubbed Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, reportedly takes patrons through the bank’s cavernous vaults as they flee Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham-Carter, also returning to film scenes) and He Who Must Not Be Named. Warwick Davis is expected to reprise his role of Griphook, while the ride will include "the full building on the exterior, we have a dragon on the outside, we have the bank, we have the goblins, and all the ancillary rooms to the back of the bank that nobody has ever seen before," according to Alan Gilmore.

Might it look something like this?

The appearance of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in a new Harry Potter adventure (albeit a short one tailored for a theme park ride) is the latest reminder that Warner Bros. does not want to let J.K. Rowling’s imaginative franchise fade from memory. The studio is hard at work on a movie adaptation of the author’s Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, which we learned will be in theaters in 2016. And the existence of the theme park in Orlando serves as a Mecca to which fans can pilgrimage, reliving the thrills of the Harry Potter saga in the sweltering heat of Orlando. Vacation road trip!

It is very cool that the original stars of the series still care enough to contribute to fun projects like this. Watch this behind-the-scenes clip on the making of the ride, and start planning your adventure to Universal Studios Orlando soon.
