If someone said you could save 40% on your taxes if you shot your film in Michigan, would you go? Probably not, but what if you got to hang out with one of those hot Duff sisters? Sounds a little more appealing doesn’t it. Writer/director Abram Makowka agrees and is going make an indie movie called Tug, starring Haylie Duff.
Duff is the sister of Hillary Duff, who is a little more famous although not exactly burning up the screen lately. Haylie is known primarily for her role as Pedro’s rival for class President in Napoleon Dynamite and on television’s 7th Heaven. According to HR, Duff will co-star with Sam Huntington. He’s the guy who played Jimmy Olson in Superman Returns. Can you picture him? Me, either.
As mentioned above, Michigan gives tax credits for films, so the movie will shoot there in June. That’s fortuitous, since the movie actually takes place in Michigan. Huntington will play a guy who has to decide between staying with his girlfriend or going back with his ex. His ex, played by Duff, is “psycho.” Get the boiled rabbits ready!
