Headey Trading Firearms For Cameras
When Lena Headey was doing Comic-Con promotion for The Sarah Connor Chronicles, she mentioned several times that she’d like to try her hand at directing. Now she’s going to get her chance with the movie Kill Drug, which the 300 actress describes as, ”smart, articulate, compelling, sexy, fun, dark, deeply poignant and not afraid to laugh at itself.”
The British thriller that will see Headey at the helm, according to Empire certainly sounds intriguing. The movie tells the story of an underground society set out to kill society’s ingrates and idiots. Headey will also star in the film as Sally, the daughter of a woman who founded the society after killing her husband in the ‘70s. As Sally gets deeper into the vigilante gang, she discovers the power of such a network may have corrupted her mother beyond salvation.
Headey continues her description of the movie with words that go a little deeper - the kind you’d expect to hear from a director. Above all it is a gripping and compelling journey, a study of humanity’s darkest flaws and purest innocence.” That’s a lot of weight to put on a picture whose basic description sounds like it’ll be weeding out the population of Wal-Mart.
