Here Comes The Bridezilla
If The Wedding Date and The Wedding Planner are any indication, the romantic comedy genre does not need any more brides crashing its party. There are exceptions to this rule, but generally speaking, wedding bells ringing in comedies are auditory red flags.
Variety reports that another bride movie is coming our way, whether we like it or not. New Line has snagged the rights to Save The Date, based on Jared Bushs’s spec script. He recently rewrote the movie Adrenaline for Radar Pictures.
Save The Date is about a Type-A woman who has planned every single detail of her wedding including the date, location, flower assortments, appetizers, and name of the limo driver. But there’s just one little problem—um, nobody agreed to marry her, and it’s easy to see why. When she finally meets the perfect guy, she has to hatch a scheme to get him to the altar, without him realizing he is the final puzzle piece of her entirely pre-planned day.
The movie starts production this year, and will probably come out sometime in 2007. So be sure to save the date to make other plans.
