Hero Blend #37: The DC Comics Television Invasion Has Begun
The presence of DC Comics on the big screen is just starting to expand in some very interesting ways. Following the huge success of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel in 2013, production is currently underway on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Dwayne Johnson is attached to play Black Adam in a Shazam film, and eight other projects have been announced to be released between now and 2020. But while the company’s feature film presence is only starting to grow, right now they are completely taking over television.
This week saw the debut of both The Flash and the third season of Arrow; Gotham has just aired its third episode on Fox, and soon enough Constantine will be making its big debut on NBC. Never before have we seen so many different DC Comic properties on TV, and while there exists the exciting possibility of a shared universe, what’s perhaps even more exciting is the fact that each show is completely different from the others and provides a completely different angle on the comic book genre.
For this week’s episode of Hero Blend, helping me take a closer look at all of the DC Comics madness hitting the airwaves is my good friend Silas Lesnick from ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype/Most Craved. Don’t waste any more time – hit the big play button above and watch the show!
Note: Scheduling forced this week’s episode to record before the debut of the new episode of Arrow, which is why we don’t dive into too many specifics. For a full breakdown of all the madness on that front, head over HERE
