Alright, I’m going to admit something I’m not proud of. I have a MySpace account. I’m pretty bored with it, and only have it because a while back I started to feel like I was the only idiot on the planet who didn’t have one, but I have one. I blame peer pressure. Not only do I have a MySpace account, but I’m a member of Jon Favreau’s Iron Man movie group. I’m just that big of a dork.
Sadly, there hasn’t been much worth paying attention to in the group and whenever I do cruise by there I’m generally disappointed by it. Tonight though, a couple of different sites have picked up a quote from there which everyone seems to think indicates that Jon Favreau has added Hilary Swank to the cast of Iron Man. I’ve looked at the quote and I have to say… wha? Where do people get this stuff?
Here’s the actual quote, in a post Jon makes about what a good time they had shooting in Vegas: “I would also like to thank Ceasars for their hospitality, generosity, and Swank accomodations.” That’s it. He simply capitalized the word “Swank”. He could have done that for any number of reasons. Maybe he wanted to emphasize the word, that’s and oft-used webspeak technique and Favs is a major internet nerd. Or, it could just be a typo.
Maybe she’s in it, I’m just saying let’s not jump the gun. Granted, Favreau is the kind of director who just might be geeky enough to drop a hint like that, but to me, it’s kind of a stretch. Even if Hilary Swank is in, it’s hard to care. It can’t be much more than a cameo.
